I’m a single mother who recently moved to Bali with my nine-year old son. I’m an ex-New Yorker who covered news for a living who loved the big city but always dreamed of being an expat. I never made it happen. Until now. 

Blogging for the first time, I cycled through many names before settling on “Jungles and Joglos”, which is a reference to the traditional style of homes that can be found in Java and Bali. I like the alliteration and it also sounds funny (to my ear, at least).

I know I’m not alone in dreaming about living abroad. This blog is meant to inspire and help you find your way to fulfilling what may seem like just a fantasy.
